“Mary Poppins Returns” and It’s Wonderful to See Her in the First Teaser

Disney

When I first heard about this teaser, during the 2018 Academy Awards ceremony, I wrote on Twitter revivquel. Why? Because apparently it’s been so long since I’ve had to come up with a new word, I forgot the one I was already using. So, it’s not a revivquel, but a rebootquel. I’m not sure if that’s better. Time will tell.

It’s Adventure Time With The First ‘Tomb Raider’ Trailer

Warner Bros.

Note: This piece was originally published on Creators.co.

The reboot is inevitable. No matter how much we hope that a film franchise will just stay as it is, no matter the level of success, it’s only a matter of time until a new incarnation arises. For some, that’s okay. Sometimes a good thing. But a great thing? That’s hard to judge from a single trailer or other images released as part of a longer marketing campaign. Only time will tell whether it was a good idea or not.

‘Red Sparrow’ Is Deadly And Seductive In First Trailer

20th Century Fox

Looks do kill. It’s not just a catchy tagline for a now off air TV show (Nikita). It perfectly sums up this new film. Interestingly, or unsurprisingly, they’re both about spies. In so many ways, I guess it doesn’t matter whether the story is original or an adaptation, when it comes to a story with a spy at the center (i.e., Alias), it’s always going to be interesting and worth keeping tabs on. Good and fun are matters for later, because right now, I’m completely intrigued.

‘Channel Zero: No-End House’ Brings Fear And Terror In First Trailer

SyFy

Note: This piece was originally published on Creators.co.

Fear is a powerful thing. When it comes to film and television writers know just how to tap into that, most of the time. As time goes on, what once scared so many might not scare any. So, people get creative. The previous things you were afraid of will probably take a back seat, as this series will awaken new ones. Things you never knew you could be afraid of, will become the closest thing to a living nightmare.

‘Molly’s Game’ Looks Exciting And Sleek In Teaser For First Trailer

STX Entertainment

Note: This piece was originally published on Creators.co.

Is it too much to ask for just a simple teaser trailer? I mean, the same objective can be achieved, but it’ll certainly be less irritating than this. I thought this year was done with the teaser for the trailer crap, which I still blame on Ridley Scott, but apparently I was wrong. Fortunately, which I doubt I’ll ever say again, this is one time I’m okay with it. I’m that thrilled to finally be getting some footage!

‘First They Killed My Father’ Offers Powerful Images In First Trailer

Netflix

Note: This piece was originally published on Creators.co.

No matter how long ago an event occurred, or how terrible it was, film can be a kind of blessing. While watching a film about horrific events can be difficult, you can learn so much. Perhaps you didn’t know anything about what the film is covering. Perhaps you just forgot. Perhaps you didn’t know a specific incident or person or hadn’t seen it portrayed from a certain viewpoint. Whatever it may be, now you have a chance to change that. What will you take away?

‘mother!’ Is All Kinds Of Crazy In The First Teaser For The First Trailer

Paramount Pictures

Note: This piece was originally published on Creators.co.

Fucking Ridley Scott and Prometheus!!!

While it might not fully be Scott who’s to blame, he did direct the sci-fi thriller five years ago, and thus we see, from time to time really, teaser’s for the teaser trailer or full length trailer. So, when you think about it, it’s still his fault. I can’t recall ever seeing teaser’s for teasers or full trailers, especially in this manner, prior to Scott’s film. So, thanks for that.
