At First Glance: “Pete’s Dragon (2016)”

It’s not every day that I want to get behind a remake. However, when the film’s first teaser trailer comes out and is absolutely amazing, I may be more inclined to do so. There’s actual hope that the people behind the film knew what they were doing, and will deliver a great finished film. Good horror films come but once a year. When you think about how many horror films come out during any given year, you’d think there’d be considerably more. However, most audiences don’t want something that isn’t quick, overly bloody, and done time and again. If this is the formula that will continue to be taken, it could be some time still until we see multiple quality horror films and break this once in a blue moon mold. Continue reading
