10 Years: “Serenity”

Absence does indeed make the heart grow fonder. Or, in this case, something pretty close to it. It’s a surprising thing when a film that’s been seen only a few times can amaze you as if it were the first time you’ve seen it. You remember it being amazing and entertaining, but for some reason haven’t gotten around to seeing it again. Now you have, and it’s somehow even more incredible and worth your time than before. At First Glance: “Spotlight”

Film’s that are inspired by true events come out every year. Some receive more attention than others, even if it’s believed they deserved more. Then there are those that are riding high waves and don’t seem like that’s going to change any time soon. Is that too much too soon? Is it just getting overhyped for no reason? Pilot: “Blood & Oil”

When a trailer tries so hard to get you to like it, even though it only looks and sounds like another show that already aired, twice, it might be a good thing to steer clear of it. Pilot: “Limitless (2015 TV series)”

I think at this point in the week, I have nothing to say about television reboots or remakes, mind you I still have other shows to say things about. They’re everywhere and truly, unfortunately, don’t seem like they’ll be going away any time soon. It’s quite sad. Continue reading

Pilot: “The Muppets (2015 TV series)”

Revivals and reboots are an unfortunate trend of late. Most, in general, don’t make it, but the majority are just bad ideas. It shows laziness and lack of originality all around. Strangely, there are a few that I annoyingly get excited about, even though I told myself I wouldn’t and was against it. Continue reading
