On Second Thought: “easy A”

So few comedies do it for me. Most are truly stupid. Sure I may laugh, but it’s because that reaction is unavoidable. You go back and think on it, it wasn’t a funny joke or moment in any capacity, it was just something stupid and childish seen countless times in similarly bad movies. I’ve pretty much given up all hope. Continue reading

On Second Thought: “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”

While sequels these days aren’t always met with joy, there are those that are worth getting excited for. The same can be said for films over 20 years ago, I’m sure. Add to the fact that this is a sequel to a classic film (and a classic itself), and you’ve got a unique viewing experience on your hands. Continue reading

On Second Thought: “The Terminator”

When it comes to classic action films, especially if they’re part of a franchise, the original will always be on top, or so goes the saying. No matter how much you personally love each successive film, nothing will knock that film from its perch in that special place in your heart. That doesn’t mean that little pieces of it won’t fall away as you reevaluate it years later. Continue reading

10 Years: “Land of the Dead”

Films about zombies are hard to pass up. It doesn’t matter what the plot is or where the film is shown, if there’s a flesh eating zombie, of any sort, I’m going to watch it! Of course, I can’t guarantee that I’ll enjoy it in the end or all the way through, but I’ll certainly give it a shot. Continue reading

Pilot: “Killjoys”

When it comes to sci-fi series, sometimes just watching one without knowing what its about is the best way to go. Absolutely no expectations. No need to figure out if it’s a bad enjoyable show or just bad. One could very well be surprised and rediscover why it is they watch a particular network. For once, I’m glad I went in blind. Continue reading

On Second Thought: “Beyond Borders”

In honor of today, June 20, I thought I’d do something a bit different. This is still a post on a film, but a very specific film that holds a special place in my heart for a few reasons. Because of this, I figured I’d do my share and spread the word, not just about this film, but because of this day. Today is World Refugee Day. Continue reading

At First Glance: “Dark Places”

If you’re a successful author with a recently made successful film, what’s the next logical step? Write more books and actually do what you say your occupation is? No. It’s be the recipient of another film adaptation of one of your other books. Not a bad thing, as many authors either don’t get film adaptations, or don’t see all of their works made into films. The only question is, will it be good in the end? Continue reading
